Our Services

Sunday Services

                            8.00 am Holy Communion

A traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer.

10.00 am The first Sunday of the month, ConneXions - a short lively informal Service, often including baptisms. ConneXions is very much a service for everyone and newcomers are particularly welcome.

On other Sundays of the month - a service of Parish Communion. Our Junior Church and young people meet separately but join us for the administration of communion. Both these services are warm and welcoming, with good music being led by our growing and talented choir.

6.00 pm (5.00 pm in the Winter months) Evensong. Most Sundays a traditional service using the BCP, but on occasions we use meditative or modern liturgies; In particular Praise in the Afternoon provides an opportunity for all age informal enjoyment, singing praise and hearing from individuals about their faith journey.

Junior Church

Our Junior Church meets during term time in the Church School near the church every Sunday, apart from the first Sunday. The children come into church towards the end of the service.

Young People’s Group

There are two separate meetings for teenagers (11-14 [Trailblazers] and 14 plus [14218) during the first part of the service. These groups occasionally lead informal worship and join with the Methodist young people for ‘Sleep outs’; weekend breaks and other events.

Special Services

Every month we have some sort of special service, often in the evening. These range from Candlemas (when we light candles and pray for children in danger and trouble), to our annual pet service in October at 10.00 am; from All Souls Day, when we remember those who mourn and miss loved ones to Baptism Sunday, a celebration of every child baptised in the previous two years. We have begun a new service Praise in the Afternoon at 4.00 pm once a month on Sunday. This is a very informal service and gives us the opportunity to sing newer hymns - the music is lead by a Music Group.

Healing Services are held once a month during the week at 7.30 pm.

A time of quiet prayer and for laying on of hands for healing of mind, body or spirit for those who would like it. Do come to pray for others or to ask for prayer for yourself or someone you love.

Many people have been blessed by Alpha and our church is the richer for it.

This Autumn we have been running a series of 'Post Alpha' meetings - 'Travelling on with Christ'. We shall follow the Alpha format (7.30 - 9.30 pm with a coffee and cake break), meet in the Upper Room in the Church on Mondays from 27 September.

Mothers' Union is a lively well attended and meets in the Reading Room on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 2.00 pm. Contemplative Prayer a group has been meeting monthly for the last four years, for an hour of quiet together. This is an opportunity to grow in the ability to be silent with God and become aware of his presence within. We meet at 10 Beverley Close on Tuesdays from 7.30 pm.

Millennium Weekend

The whole village will be involved in the Millennium Weekend which is on 1/2 July. The weekend will be full of various events. On Sunday at 11.00 am our act of worship will take place outside the church - more details soon.
